A very interesting new addition. For everyone but the very top players removes the necessity to buy super expensive balls anymore. Regarding the irons, forgiveness and meter speed look very attractive compared to R11, but accuracy and distances are considerably worse. The G20 set becomes useless because of them (except as an intermediate step for those who haven't yet reached the high levels).

    Any thoughts?

They look excellent except as said.  The only other down side, looking at the specs, is the way high level, and so that's why I personally wonder how many they will sell? If you are still off Master Tees then yes way nice to have - I simply don't know how many there are at L94.

As a legend, just looking at the specs, you would only use them if you could not cope with the L79 Bladez or L90 R11 irons first, and then also to justify the cost over the v competent, and way slow meter any way G20s..............

That's the high level stuff.  Farther down the Levels the L47 one's look excellent, but that slow slow meter won't get you used to the faster meter of the real scoring clubs at Legend level.  The lack trajectory of those lower level one's (assuming same as Raptures they replaced) also makes them second to the L59 G20s for scoring potential well in to Legend.

That's also all only as regarding irons.  I just bought the L92 3 wood and am pleased with it.  Also more choice is never a bad thing...

I bought the irons and due to a lack of time right now I can't go into too much detail.  They're a huge improvement over the G20s.  Precision is very good - not R11/Bladez excellent, but as close as anything else.  They're super dingable.

Up through 5 iron stops with no to minimal roll on a flat green FBS in a light crosswind with Cally spin balls.  The 3 and 4 irons definitely can roll away from you.  8 iron goes longer than stated, I haven't figured out if it's inconsistent or just long.

I had a couple of shots where I was disappointed with the forgiveness, and many more where it certainly helped.  This plus dingability will help anybody who misses as few as 3 greens per 9 with R11s.

The biggest drawback is the lack of distance on the long irons.  Users will have to learn how to choke a 3 wood to below 90%.  That's a tough shot...seems like every pixel is 2-3 full yards. On the other end, the 94 yard PW punch is very useful.

The wind offset and carry distance adjustments for spin are very close to R11s.  They're definitely high trajectory clubs. I Haven't tried any of the 25 ft.+ elevated greens yet.

I'm sure many players can score high 50s with these clubs and Callies from the tips, including some who can't with the fast-meter clubs.  Also, players who reach high 50s once in a blue moon with R11s should be able to do it much more often.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone else who's bought them , slow meter looks like a bonus , some days i can ding the R11's not too bad , other days the meter just about gets to the end !

Bizarrely there's been a review posted , but by someone who is level 79 and can't buy them ??????????

Here are some replays with the MAX Meter set.

Cally level 43, championship greens.  I only had one shot at each of these because I had to play in RR mode (no mulligans).

8 iron BPB 2, full power and BS

    3 Iron BPB5, 96% power, FBS

6 iron BPB 15, full power and BS

3I BPB 17, full power and BS

Nike RZN level 81, tourney greens. The mulligan feature stopped working on the 2nd hole.

Here, the scoring irons have plenty of stopping power to a 35+ foot elevated green with a mild headwind.  There's a big drop-off in bite with the 6 iron.

Merion New Holes Tourney, Cally 43s, Tourney greens

I must have neglected to save my MS Works page where I copied the replay links, so this will be anecdotal with the exception of one shot that I saved to my WGT replays.  I shot a 56 with the MAX set from the Master tees to Tournament greens.  I had four 3 iron approaches and shot -4 on those holes.  The 18th approach (97% Power, FBS, 8 tailwind) landed in the middle of the green and rolled to the back fringe.  The 9th and 17th both stuck with minimal roll using full power and spin (I don't recall the wind conditions).  Then there was this shot on the 3rd.

Excellent , way to sell an iron set .

Now i'm wondering if i should take the plunge or wait till the next free rental weekend , whenever that might be ?

This is mind-blowing - any referral of your ding-miss experiences to Watergate?

I've made a purchase as well. Very nice set of irons, but to be clear they are not improvement to R11. Precision is not that great, but personally it's a second best set available, and I've had Bladez.

I'm using them with L70(spin) Nike's. Roll on 3-4 iron is only on very high elevated greens and tail winds (like 4th Conga, but I was able to stop after 3yd roll). Short irons stop deadly and sometimes even roll back. They have also very high trajectory. I'm not satisfied with forgiveness, with 4 dots I was thinking it would be better. BUT hard to miss ding much, so it's not that big problem. These irons are no-brainer, easy to control. I'm feeling very confident when i need to hit some tough shot. .3i - 215yd could be a problem, but I equipped my bag with Hybrid and 2 wedges. Only to hit some long par-3's  but on some courses is not required, and 215yd is long enough to make any green with so much distance on R1 driver. Didn't even noticed I don't have 56' cleveland, because PW is 110yd and 94yd punch stop great without roll with fbs.

I agree with mr.bhoese, players who shot 50's rarely should be able shoot low more often with this set instead of R11 with fast meter.
