    "You're right about the payroll"

    That should read "revenues" when talking about the tax, not payroll. The central fund does augment this to provide for the lower revenue teams getting more.

    " In addition, a chunk of MLB’s Central Fund — made up of revenues from sources like national broadcast contracts — is disproportionately allocated to teams based on their relative revenues, so lower-revenue teams get a bigger piece of the pie."

    Luxury tax wasn't mentioned because it only affects 3-4 teams. Regardless of how money is moved around my point is to people that whine about the Yankees buying pennants. (btw-I grew up hating them-lol.) A true salary cap, not the "soft" one the article refers to, I think would make sense but probably will never happen.

    Oh well, there's always golf and hitting them straight deprives you of the scenic areas but we keep trying  :-D
