would be awesome to have the option of a private chat window to discuss strategy with your partner in an alternate game mode match! This way the other team cant see what you are telling your partner about a hole or?
A number of people already do this by using skype while they are playing, but most people who use this to communicate, do so to talk to ALL players. It's a good way to get to know each other, and it saves a lot of typing!
Would only cause more probs re lag/meter stutters I'd imagine. Plenty of other options to do this though through skype/ventrilo/teamspeak etc. Google any of them and enrich your game experience ten fold.

I agree with Johnny here. One of the main and most positive advantages of alternate play is the social contact. The play TOGETHER should be the main factor here, as in a real golf game, not the winning and/or possible cheating factor.

+1 Voice skype/ventrilo/teamspeak is great option when playing with friends.
I got hooked up with skype for free and this seems to be a great way to accomplish what you are talking about. It doesn't seem to affect the meter or any other part of the game. Try it. you'll like it.
why have more processes to run on pc when it would be a very minimal slow down if ANY on wgt..... and for the guy saying it would be cheating or something .....LOL its called strategy where ur opponent cant see or hear! Yall get that part.... Skype has many virus thresholds and to answer the part about a community game ....That is still all there , no secret chat about anything except CADDY ADVICE
