  Would somebody please look at this and explain it?

  Full backspin on G10 3i (210) dinged. Pin showed 210 away.

  way downhill + hitting off a tee (goes longer), wind slightly helping,  and maybe a slight longdev?

   

  not familiar w/ GID balls, but i'd assume 4i makes it with ease.

  That's about right Jim w/ the gi-d ball. The backspin on that goes a little further than its gi-sd sister. And since I would hit 210 full bs w/ a touch off, that would make your shot carry bout 216. Like BB said maybe slight carry deviation, yours carried 218, but well within the norm.

  Thank you both. I was totally surprised by the result with that 3i carrying so far. I usually use the SD ball but this was a round to get pictures so I was fooling around with different clubs and ball. 4i w/topspin is what I would have used in a ranked round.

  I dont think using topspin is ever a good option with the back pin there.  Anything landing 6-8 yard short will stop dead, and anything landing just short of the pin is going to roll past it.  Dropping one on the flag with backspin is best.
