Has anyone noticed that, when you buy a 3 pack of golf balls no matter what type, that after so many hits gone adios. It seems to me that if they are going to be relastic that just like when you go to the store and buy them, they are yours forever. These people seem to just want to take your money over and over all the time.

That is how the game is paid for( that and the ads), better than green fees in my opinion.

Balls also wear out in real life. You're are way late noticing that the balls lose durability.

    Golf Balls

    Bingo!

You just discovered Law #1 of Capitalism: Let'm buy.

If you look further into the Pro Shop, you may be the first to discover that these ball have  durability dots, individually for each type. That means they wear in different intervals.

Other dangers for the custom balls include weed, water, gorse and OOB. Don't go looking for them, you will never find one there, and there are no "experienced balls" available at the counter.

Which brings me to RL: A caddy taking us on tour of the Old Course of STA on free-of-play Sunday found a ball under a gorse bush. Picking it up he told us that he had never payed a penny for balls - a lucky man!

I knew a fellow once who told me he had the coolest golf ball ever. He said you absolutely could not lose this ball. He told me to check out the features of the ball. Look he said, you can hit it into the lake and a little rubber pontoon comes out and it floats back to the surface. I told him that it was pretty cool. He then explained you could shoot it into the woods and a little beacon would come out and with a receiver you could find the transponder in the ball. Then he showed me another feature. If you hit this ball into the ruff or the weeds, a little blade would come out of the ball and cut a clean swath for you to shoot from. I told him that they were indeed very cool golf balls and i inquired where I could buy one. He told me he did not know, that he had found that one.

I agree but most golf balls will last 2-3 years, unless you lose them or they are a cheapo brand made in China. So it is not about the ball, it is baout the money to keep them going. I understand now.
