Although I am sure there are a lot of players on here who already do this, I am equally sure that there are new TM's or Legends who are thinking great.... I got promoted... now what do I do.

My solution was to tailor my club selection to the course I am going to play.  As an example, at Oakmont and Olympic,  where precision is important, I carry R11S Driver; my 4 CG wedges; R11 irons and putter. My reasoning is that I am not going to get to the green in 2 anyway teeing off from the tips, so I am willing to sacrifice the distance of the 3W for a little better control around/on the green.

Although my normal bag is Drvr; 3W; 56,60,64 wedges;iron set, I will sometimes replace the 3W with a hybrid, driver with 3W, basically I just mix and match.

This is not for everyone, but it works for me, which is all that matters.

Keep 'em on the short grass everone.

    Just like in real life.

If you only have 14 clubs, you don't yet have a fuil set.

    Mine too.

I can make an eagle with my 3 wood, or double bogey with it just the same.

The only time I change is when I know for sure that in the multi round tourney the tees will me forward then I will drop the 3 wood in favor of a 4th wedge. There are just too many courses that you need the 3 wood to reach the longer par 4's and even a few of the longer par 3's needs a 3 wood. The R11 3 wood punches out of the rough very well so for the most part there is no need for the hybrid.

I'm staying the same, but been thinking about buying a 225yd-ish hybrid for a few rounds now, so maybe the idea has some merit.  TY for the post.

Mine too, never changes.  I don't know why you (the OP) think you can't reach the greens at Oakmont and Olympic in 2 from legend tees, it shouldn't be any bother with the gear you have.

It takes a while to get to know your clubs, swapping around seems more likely to lead to mistakes.
