I'm sure there are mice out there with thumb buttons, but there are also trackballs with that feature, and any number of game controllers can be programmed to use a button comfortably with the thumb.

Logitech gets high marks from many, and this group now includes me.  There's a thread somewhere where quite a few members swear by Logitech mice.  I've recently started using a Logitech Attack 3 joystick game controller, and love it.  I was using a generic game controller, but it felt kind of "loose" in response time, the latency seemed slow and inconsistent.  But the Logitech has a tighter feel, and responds quicker.  (Although the software sucked.  If you get a Logitech game controller, use the free program Xpadder to set it up.)

My mouse has 3 thumb buttons (1 is a trigger)and a left to right thumb scroll. It's the "RAT 5". And you can program the mouse to make each button do different functions with the software. Best mouse ever imo..

I used the Logitech Trackball for a long time and loved it. Advanced Nintendo thumb pains forced me to switch to a regular one.  :-(

I bought the Razer Death Adder about a month and a half ago and love it. Best Buy has them on sale for a very fair price.  In onlty 5 minutes you can program all the buttons to work any keys and the reaction times on the lazor. So you can have the thumb button work your swing and any other button you want to zoom in and out. And of course the roller to choose your club. But if you just want the thumb button Logitec has them for for cheap.
