You can look at stats and answer from that but as far as personality and a high level of play I would have to say Jimmy Coonors . :)

He was definitely an over achiever.

Although I still have my Wilson T3000 in the back of a closet somewhere, Conners is not on the radar or even in the top 10 of all time.  Federer, then Sampras IMO

And whatever happened to the Aussie men's tennis domination of the 50s and 60s?

Well, I was born in 1980, so can't comment much about the 50s & 60s, but certainly am disappointed that no Aussie men made rd 2 since 1938 !! I knew Lleyton had no chance, but I wish Tomic tried a bit harder, or looked like he cared at least...

Oh well, at least we've still got Sam Stosur ...

As for the best ever - Federer for mine, but Nadal isn't that far behind, even though I'm not a huge fan of his, gotta respect his ability and determination

how about the era when prince came out with the 'oversized' head (mid 70s)

tried it for about a week, kept smacking myself in the shin

    Head Pro baby

started with a Jack Cranmer, wore the head to the strings

then Stan Smith came in till i started with my redheads

had a yamaha composite piece of crud, kept breaking

the t-2000 felt like a 2x4, the auther ashe like a noodle

sure wish i could still play.......

oh and McEnroe was a saint compared to Nasty
