  I have been playing here a little while now and there are one or two minor changes that hopefully be made soon to improve the play here

  However one change I would really like to be made, and have seen no mention of it, is that of the view before you take your shot that you can use to get your line

  I would like to see the same view as you see for your drive.  This may be a personal thing and I will be interested to see any replies, but I like to line up my shots and putts from a direct reverse view.  This may be from years of playing Links, but I have tried this now for some time and I think it is something that is affecting my shot making and especially my putting.

  Regarding putting, I know you sometimes get a better view with the reverse view but again after a lot of trials I find I cannot putt anywhere near as well from the reverse view

  You have a perfect view for the drive, so why not the rest of the shots??   

  Does anyone else agree with me of is it a very personal thing ??

  So you're standing on the tee at BPB1. You drive to the bend on the right. For your second shot you want to be standing back on the tee? Or are you talking about the views in zoom mode? Ya got me on this one, mick. Going crosseyed trying to envision what you want. :-D

  For what it's worth, aiming your first and second shots from the Reverse Green view gives you a nice look at the whole hole, especially if you look from there when the opp is hitting.

  Hi micklen,

  That's an unfortunate side-effect of the photo-realistic nature of the game and the way those photos are taken on the course.. For example, on the teebox photos taken from directly behind the center of the teebox ,so your avatar will always be perfectly centered.  However, throughout the rest of the course photos are taken at certain intervals (every couple of yards or so) and sometimes there just isn't a shot that will put you exactly in the center of the screen. 

  We try our best (especially around the greens) to center your view as best as possible, but having perfectly centered views for every player in every situation would require a near-infinite amount of photos.  That would slow course production down to a crawl and would also likely increase the cost of doing so as well.  The course production team has gotten much better at shooting the courses so this does not happen as often (compare Bethpage to Kiawah for example), but for the reasons I mentioned above will not be perfect in every single situation.  We needed to find that "optimum" balance that covered the course well enough, but at the same time didn't require upwards of a half a million photos per course.

  Yes I see the problem now.  Links courses, as you probably know,are made in effectively a cad style programme, so any view can be used from any angle.  I have to admit I didn't realise that each view was an actual photograph.

  I will try harder to get used to to it then

  Great word nivlac! 

  I personally never encounter any angle issues... at least not large enough to bother me. If I do identify one of them to be a nuisance I simply change the view and adjust from there. WGT did a great job mapping out everything and taking photos.

  your more reliable than me, id get to the course go straight to the 19th hole and throw back a few schooners, then maybe then id take pictures or perhaps play a round of drunk golf

  With your drunk pictures we'd at least get a few more angles on the holes than usual.

  1. yes, I agree that the

   

  (a) before shots - are no good for 50% of the shots , its hard to undestand the layout of the ground / green / fairway 

  (b) after shot - i mostly see a bunker or some odd angle, where as my ball is rolling somewhere else - which is not shown at all

  (c) before put - especially for the put, I see myself standing in front of the flag . I should be standing aside to see the rolls and slop - its very uncomfortable and misguiding 

   

  (d) before shot - especially near the flag area is not shown clearly 

   

  I am using iPad for the game - hope this can be improved for iPad, please
