What shot type do you need to use for a 7-iron bump and run for say 20-40 yards?

    Thanks!

A punch shot with full top spin will give u close to a   "bump and run" shot.

Your pitching wedge would probably be the best choice for the yardage you want and I would imagine you would need to give it around 1/2 power.

Some experimenting on a practice round with a flat fairway is always a good choice.

    I like Kiawah 1st hole .

i would never do it, anything 20-40 yrds i usually use my z-satin 64 degree wedge and dial it back using a *punch* shot. i find the pitch mode the most unreliable shot available. then again, depends on your lie.

play practice stroke mode, see how it works for you. if you find that bump and run somewhere, please let me know :-)

Thanks ALUMGOLD, I will give that a try. I do use Punch lots, especially with the 64 degree, and I thought that might be the best choice to use with a short iron for this type shot.

Well, and I'm not kidding here: try to hit a 7-iron (chip) 20-40 yards. Probably not a good idea but give it a try in practice mode... try 8 and 9 irons too, I guess at around 50 percent power. I've tried to work out a good shot that will fly low into an upslope -- like short of the green on St. A 18 -- check up and bounce/roll up onto the green, but it's way too hard to get right all the time. It's virtually always better on WGT to land on the green.

Why not just flop it within 3 yds or less from the hole?  Works most every time for me.  Just saying.  To each their own. Good luck either way.

Agreed. Takes out most of the pitfalls.
