  How about doing "Best of" Par 3 and or Par 5 course.

  Definitely not a new idea. It's been brought up repeatedly over the last couple of years.

  One problem with it is how to make it work for the averages. Average score here is based on the raw score, not what the score is in relationship to par. A 66 on a par 70 course counts exactly the same as a 66 on a par 72 course and counts the same as a 33 on any 9-hole round. Shooting par on a par 3 course would very quickly drop your average into the 50s.

  Right on the money - would not work for stroke play but would make a fun closest to the hole/blitz format.

  Simple, don't allow it for ranked stroke play.  It would be OK and fun for stroke practice, Alt Shot, Match Play, Blitz and CTTH.

  we are still considering new ideas for the best of. currently my fav is best of par 5 +3 mix, since it'll be par72.

  Sounds great idea...crack on.(as long as it's a new course and not a replacement)...Andy
