    On tee off in top right corner theres hole yardage But if you put your pointer on player

    in the green lay out on bottom right side there is a different length.

    Why?Is there at purpose to the two different yardages?

    When you put pointer on player in the middle of the fairway yardage is correct.

    hi

    there are different pins locations so yardages would be different. the yardages you see are generally to the middle of the green.

    also, most holes are not straight, and when you aim over the top, you will see straight line distances.

    True for real courses but not here. Yardages are to one set of flags. The numbers on the score cards will only change with the flag positions on Par 3s.

    Agreed. Alas, there's at least one hole  which is measured straight and plays as a dogleg: KIA #9.

    BTW: I know that the pins change at random in ranked rounds. Alas, in setting up practice rounds there with "easy" and "hard" pin positions I hoped to play boths pins. How could this fail?

    St Andrews No 9 is strange too. Dead straight but if you hit the exact distance given you end up past the pin.

    Courtney,

    Those 'exact yardages' you refer to are generally predicated on a few assumptions:

    a. playing an 'average' ball, as opposed to extra distance or extra spin balls;

    b. neglecting wind effects;

    c. for the case of wood wood shots, the ball landing and rolling on fairway - as opposed to SA #9 where, from all but the Legend/champ tees, you have every chance of being on the green on the first hop, if not flying all the way to the green.

    The rolling resistance on the green is much less than on the fairway, especially on a flat green like SA #9, so you need to factor that in also.

    Have fun out there!
