    Can someone explain this please.

bethpage hole 5, second shot, 179y to flag from middle of fairway, flag placement at back of green so the full length to work with, 8mph tail wind, and my 190y hybrid club at full meter and ding with dot in middle lands 22 yards short after pitching in the rough between the 2 bunkers. Hmmmm.

I realise its an uphill shot but 60 foot short full power with a tail wind. Come on. this is one example of several 'wrong' shots ive hit in the last week and i'm getting a bit sick of it frankly.

Is this really the most realistic golf game available. if this was true practically no-one would be hitting scores in the 50's as hardly any professional golfer has went round in 59.

Also i'm just off the green by a matter of inches and hit the ball above centre, why is there a huge divot produced? is this possible?

    Rant over.

BP is one of my Favorite courses. I find when you are just about the distance at a 100% full length of a club I club up and hit it 85% instead. It gives you less of a chance of being way off if you miss the ding plus the meter is slower on the downswing to make dinging the shot easier.

Club up and take a little off the power bar.

That hole is difficult with starter clubs, especially if you aren't close enough to the green to use an iron. The better clubs have a higher trajectory, so when you progress, this course becomes the easiest of them all. You can earn credits without spending money and the game is a lot more fun with better equipment.

Ah yes, the famous BPB 5th hole.  With starter equipment, the ball will never hole the green if you are lucky to land on the green from that distance.  You need to learn where you can land the ball and get it up and down to save par.  Although, BPB can be a nightmare at times, it is still one of the best courses to teach yourself course management, and develop your short game as well.  Learn to play out of the rough, and from the sand on BPP, it will be invaluable playing the other courses.

Just saying, don't get frustrated, but it will teach you the limitations of your clubs.  As you progress and get better and better clubs, you will need to learn the limitations all over again.  But, your short game will continually improve.

yeah, your problem with that shot is two fold:

     - 190yd hybrid is gonna be short .. that shot adds maybe 8yds with elevation only, so u lookin' at 186ys  already .. take off perhaps 4yds for wind

     - the stater hybrid has a medium trajectory ... no ways u make the green with that from that distance ..

as previous poster said, u need high trajectory stuff for that .. IF you did make the green, the ball would have sped off right across into the thick stuff on the far side of the green anyway ..

Thanks for the advice everyone. Time to glue the snapped hybrid back together.

I'm determined to go round in 74 at BP with the starters.
