Interesting might give that a try - would take getting use to but once your used to the distances it might work. Be damn hard on tourney greens though where 1 ft too much penalizes you by over running the hole by miles.

There is ZERO reason WGT should be defaulting a 100ft to 150ft putter from fringe!!! It's completely asinine!!! I have had several SUB-20ft putts from fringe where I set up for a 30ft putter, and getting as close to a perfect alignment as I can, and WGT gives me a 150ft putter, and I've F'D up a round because of it.

I better not get a response from WGT telling me I should "look at club selection" everytime i putt.

WGT should default a putter that is covered WITHIN thelength of a putt "IF WGT DECIDES TO DEFAULT ME WITH A PUTTER" on the fringe.

    Fix this BS WGT!!!

This has been brought up on many occasions and, as annoying as it is, WGT seems reluctant to make any change. Which might be a good thing as, whenever any changes are made to the game, more bugs seem to appear, not that this is a bug.

Like lots of us have, I think It would be better for you to accept WGTs programming and make checking your putting meter part of your shot set-up routine, it'll become automatic before long.  : )

IMO it's no big deal. We should always check to see what club or in this case distance our idiot caddie has given us. That is always part of my check off list before I take any shot.

FWIW I almost always putt from the fringe, after a bit of practise you can almost always get it real close or in some cases in.

    IRISHPUNK:

I use the 100 foot scale a lot.  Using the higher scales means less meter travel so there is less chance more a meter skip and is easier to ding because you don't have to wait as long for the meter to get to the ding bar.

THIS!!  And (risking sounding like a jerk) I think I'm a fine putter.

Geez... I actually posted this?  What a ****.  I'm barely a "good" putter much less a "fine" putter.
