WGT hurts its credibility daily with the continuation of the Community Spotlight. Featuring people who obviously opened a multiple account well over a year ago, posted some low scores and then left is nothing other than fostering ill-will and celebrating those who cheated at the game.

For entertainment's sake I occasionally click on one of those profiles that look very suspect (unrealistically low average for the tier). Often I see an account that was used for two weeks or less in early 2011 and abandoned. Of course, WGT still sells it as one of the 5 million active community members even though the profile specifies, "Player XXX has not done anything recently".

More ill will gets demonstrated by current active members who feel the need to put current posts on these inactive accounts. I just looked at an account that was on the featured list today. The account is listed as a level 28 amateur with a 58 average. It was opened May 10, 2011. The last score posted was May 23, 2011.

On the account wall, members posted insults, claims of cheater and other fun things including profanity when this account was featured in the Community Spotlight on the following dates:

    October 5, 2011

    November 3, 10 and12,2011

    December 23 2011

    January 1, 3, and 7, 2012

    February 25, 2012

    March 10, 13 and 21, 2012

    April 2 and 6, 2012

    May 22, 2012

    July 12 and 18, 2012

    August 2, 2012

    October 30 and 31, 2012

WGT should either quit with the Community Spotlight featuring these accounts or change the parameters to those accounts that have shown activity within the last month. Replacing the current system with a feature rotating four monthly tournament winners at a time from upper tiers (to prevent sandbagging claims on wall posts) would be a positive as well.

Stopping it won't benefit anyone. Personally, I don't care about them.

It benefits WGT. It's their lack of integrity and credibility they are highlighting by continuing it. It would also be an emotional benefit to current players being legitimately featured.

+1 I rarely look at that stoopid thing.

You may not care but the fact that people are posting on featured profile walls means that some people do. That WGT continues to feature a lack of credibility should matter a lot to the employees of the company.

Agreed, who looks at it anyway, unless you want to see who multi account holders are lol. And often these players have not played for ages so why highlight them.

Replace it with the best drive of the day, best scores or something meaningful that may be of interest.

Perhaps the reason you, or anyone else, rarely look at it is because there are often those aforementioned abandoned accounts listed, and they're typically the same profiles over and over. Even the legitimate profiles - same ones, over and over.

I don't agree that the Community Spotlight should disappear altogether, but there are means of filtering the profiles listed. It's a matter of priority, and I don't believe filtering out obvious multi-account profiles that people rarely look at is high up on WGT's list.

    My 2 cents - Kelsey

stopping it WILL benefit someone .. it will benefit WGT ..

yeah, i don't look at the stupid thing anymore either .. why ? cause it carries no weight, cause it's not credible ..

cause anyway u look at it, it's deceptive .. & it's been brought to WGT's attention time & time again ..

adult people with some brains don't appreciate being taken on a $hit ride .. in business, integrity is worth more than a company's weight in capital equity .. foolishness undermines integrity, which in turn undermines customer confidence ..

i remember being a WGT fanboy .. not anymore .. i enjoy the game yeah; they have a monopoly for now .. but if there was somethin' comparable out there & if that somethin' else was built on the principle of integrity, i'd be there .... NOT here

the "community spotlight" is a corrosive element that should have been eliminated/fixed a long time ago .. but to me, it's done its damage ..
