Why does the new WGT day start an hour earlier now ?

If we all adjusted our clocks shouldn't the time still be the same ?

It is the same. WGT uses Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) which never changes.

They stayed the same - you're the one that changed, therefore, your WGT day starts an hour earlier, not theirs.

    Make sense?

But if our time starts by their clock, then our time should have stayed the same. When they shut down the game last night, it was at the same time as always, 11pm Pacific time.2 am eastern time. My time changed too, 1 hour earlier to 7 pm instead of 8pm. So you see it doesnt make sense, because the game as you say is run by their clock, not ours. So the time change should not have had any effect on our start times. Of course I could be wrong, it does happen some times that I am. But when it comes to WGT, I dont think so. Happy Swinging

    LOL.that was not  thought through.

If your alarm is set to go off every morning at 8 am. And the time goes back, one hour, but you forget the reset the time on your clock,When it goes off ..What time is it?

8AM. Or 7AM Think of WGT as the alarm you forgot to reset

If you think you actually gained or lost an hour of sunlight, then you need to go curl up in the corner, suck your thumb, and wonder how legislative edicts actually change the laws of physics.

If you understand that your boss didn't want to say, "Get up earlier!" or "Get up later!" and put the responsibility for that dictum upon your politicians, then you're beginning to get the picture.

Any company with reasonably intelligent decision makers, with an around-the-world clientele, would publish and adhere to UTC.  Converting, if you aren't on UTC, is a minor pain in the ass. It requires an ability to add and subtract very small numbers.

The only problem will be if WGT decides to institute deviations for time as well as for trajectory and wind. Then, you're on your own.

When the United States goes on daylight savings time, our time is one hour closer to UTC. (Spring Ahead)  When we go back to standard time ( Fall Back) we are back to our regular distance from UTC as per the time zone we live in.

In Europe "Ssummer Time" starts a couple weeks after our DST and ends a week before our DST.

Arizona and Hawaii don't go on DST.  Neither did Indiana until about 7 years ago.  It's all about sunlight and the useable hours of the working day.  You can thank Ben Franklin.

Yes Kelsey I get it but if you think about it logically it doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Arizona, per se, doesn't observe DST, but the Navajo do.  That's a large portion of the state. If you're wonking around in their territory, bear that in mind.

The importance of time is, of course, relative.
