    alosso:
Missing the ding will deviate the putt no matter how many forgiveness points the putter has.
This is very true, including the " miss ding" technique. It takes time to move through the different putters and to find this out. You need to "know" and I mean KNOW what the putt or any club will do in different circumstances, I'm still trying to get it right.... LOL.  This also is very true, wayward angles, take a piece of twine and go out lets say 75 yds or meters, be off by just 2 degrees of angle, wow. If distance is a problem, of course narrow the gap. It is a long road to find these things out, good traveling?

I play a lot of Ready go's and notice forgiveness changes with my clubs in different ready go's and at different days.  I could miss the ding by a fraction on say 3 iron in 1 ready go and I might still land within 3 or 4 yards, but i could miss the ding by same margin another time or ready go and the ball seems to fly 8 to 10 yards left or right.  Same with putting, i could have a 8 foot putt today, miss ding slightly but putt still drops, tomorrow I could be faced with exactly same putt, but this time it sails wide.  Every time we play we get a different result, its just the game.  I know the amount of times a shot i thought was perfect has ended up a WTF shot and been 8 yards short or long and other times I've missed the ding by an inch and expected to land 12+ yards right only to land within 2 yards.  Its how the game plays its down to the type of round we're getting.  Forgiveness seems to vary.

Precision is in the eye of WGT, I don't  care what any one says. You don't always get what you pay for, believe me. This game will play as it damn well pleases, unless you have a special gift. I have played way to many rounds, in all categories. It will do what is predetermined, I don't give a flying $hit  what any body thinks, it is made the way it is. Let the comments fly, I have earned the right to make my comments. I will still play, have good remarks and bad, again, that is the way it is.

You really should buddy-up with ChrisIronsBones cos he believes the same thing

The forgiveness only  realy applies when you are going for between 15 & 30 ft puts as far as putting goes. miss a 15 ft ding by a tad and it will still go in same for up to 30ft. So miss the ding by a tad on a driver and it will be costly. that's why I try to avoid the ding at times and go by gut instinct. - maybe that's why I am stuck on my level but I can live with that. better the devil you know.

I can't believe no one has told OP to simply "hit it harder."

As you can read, players have different ways of describing the same thing.  The game obviously changes from day to day, round to round, and even shot to shot.  The randomization inside the "circle of forgiveness" or the "circle of precision" can vary quite a bit.

All I can tell you is to adjust on the greens, too.  When you notice a putt that you KNOW should have dropped fall short instead, you make sure the next similar putt is hit harder.  I have struggled for an entire round with Olympic uphill putts before just adding a bit more distance across most of the 18 holes only to finally get a couple right on the last few holes.  I would bet sometimes WGT tweaks the green speeds just a tad, and this could also explain the issue.

Bottom line is....it's a game.  Adjust and realize some days you're just gonna wind up screwed.  One of your biggest indicators is when your opponent starts running ridiculously hot.  When that happens, I'm usually in for a real grind just to avoid embarrassment.

The green speed is not a solid number. Often, at the end of the second hole, I modify my correction factor.

I have had my daytona since 2012 and it served me well up until they brought out new more expensive putters. I could stop the ding every time & then it started missing 10 ft straight puts by anything from 1 to 2 inches. tried the starter putter and it dings it every time,

Guesse what I use now !!!!!!
