    Hi,

Could someone please explain to me the secret to playing Olympic.  Almost everytime I play  a tournament there I have to withdraw.  Shots get so erratic and inconsistent it gets frustrating...can't seem to break 63. Shots do not react the same as other courses for me anyway.

Is anyone else having issues while playing Olympic.  Maybe I'm not judging for trees effecting the wind or different grains on the greens.  Check my stats before judging me please...lol.  You will find I have been playing for a long while and know the effects of my ball and clubs.

    Thanks and happy hitting.

    Heath

I would bet all my clubs, which will soon get the same answer:

I am in no position to comment on Oly, and especially as I am like a hack in comparison.

You may have seen these before but they did assist me a little in trying to negotiate the course. If not you will have to assume the trees have grown since the course was added.

I can't see anything wrong with shooting a 63 on Oly or any reason to withdraw.

Personally I would be a little downhearted too......but in my case I would hope the back nine were better LMAO

Heath - just like any other course there are holes that play longer than stated or shorter than stated - and you just have to figure that out with practice.  The winds don't affect shots anywhere near what a similar wind will on St Andrews (for example) on "most" shots (occasionally it will but it is rare).  The greens are a little tricky also as downhill they seem to roll at true speed but uphill they seem to run one speed slower.

Personally I love Olympic and am royally POd if I don't break 60.  I would much rather play Olympic than Oakmont - those greens just seem to baffle me.

LOL.... you are a realy poor child.....

You do a full round with only 60 hits on the Olyp.. I can dream about this.

By the CttH Chanell i hit a 144 on the 134th place now. I know i can do a 80 to 90 score to be under the 20th best. But some hits are going in a way i dont can realise this. The Olyp. Course have a lot of specials thats true. Yust there are some hits, these are going in the opposite direction than advisable.

    Example :

    1. Wind 9 from the left down side __ i hit the center, and the fly is going 9 to the right side.

    2. Distance shows you 8 Ft. down. But you need 5 Yard more to be close to the cup.

    3. etc, etc, etc.

There are much more trouble makers who are waiting. I like to see more fotos with details around and from the green.

Thanks a lot, Alan. I'd been thinking about a new keyboard. You made the decision easy... I just spit coffee all over the old one.
