  when you move meter the putter will move and stp unless you keep going,then stop at next one and so on,on a 30 foot putter i believe each stop is 6 feet, but not sure..

  I have scales. 10 / 15 / 30 / 45 / 60 / 90 / 150 & 300. With steps from 0 to 10.

  Than i calculate the greensped dependet if its fast, very fast or tournament with 1,0 / 1,2 / 1,3.  Mostly i ad 1,5 feet more. Except the Olympic Course, and ad or substract the difference from up or down hill. Thats all. Some putter dont axcept a changing from the scales dependet the distance. My Daytona Putter do this very well, with a small charge of differents. You can figure out the distance with out the scales, thats true, but its very dificult i think and need lot of practice rounds. How is the figure are doing with feet steps i cant say. But the distance need some progression. With 50% swing you have only 45% power. And 25% its only 10% power. 

  Puting is one of the bigest thema here....

  I've seen most putter types 'distance/avatar move' discussed over the years. I don't use that method myself, so didn't internalize the info.
