I switched from the Nike to Legend Calloway ball to save a few coins and they wear out seriously fast.

Does anyone have a comparison on length of usage on these two balls. It seems like it might be pretty close to 1 sleeve of Nike's being comparable to 2 sleeves of Calloways.

I don't have an exact durability comparison I'm afraid, but it is noticeably less durable. I'm not sure 2 dots instead of 2.5 means 80%, it seems worse.

I'd recommend the L35 Callaway instead. Same life as the Nike's, 2/3 the price. For whatever reason, the combination of length and spin gives it a stable, non-ballooning flight. So it keeps good length, and is controllable in the wind. The irons fly the stated yardage with full BS, so no need to chart any club lengths. I just bought the R11 irons, so have had to switch to the slow meter version. Still prefer it to the Nike's even though it's the same price - my limited capabilities can't handle the meter speed otherwise :-)

I tried the legend i(s) Callys and was shocked at the use rate.  Tried the L33 version and found it to have just as much distance and it lasts considerably longer.

I lost one off the Kia 9 tee earlier tonight. Finished that 18, played another 18 and a 9.  Meter still shows a third full, so those are good for about three 18s, maybe a bit more.

I remember someone making a chart on exactly how many hits each type of ball lasts. If i find it, I'll post it here for you.

    -EDIT-

    Here it is...

Don't be fooled by the durability dots. The rule-of-thumb is: better balls cost more -- no kidding.

Ball Type Durability Hits 9-hole round
    per ball*
    9-hole round

    Reported or

    WGT Legend GI2-SD2 1.5-dot 95 4.5 Rd/ball 8.76 Rd/$ andyson

    Nike 20XI-X (L71+) 2.5-dot 120 5.7 Rd/ball 3.81 Rd/$

    * It is calculated based on 21 hits per 9-hole round (par 36 with 67% green-in-regulation).
** This is the number of 9-hole rounds you can play with every dollar (or 100 credits) you spend on the type of balls (base price).

That table has great information. It gives me a real idea of how much I will spend as I gradually improve the quality of ball I use. Thank you for finding that information for us.
