    is it done at random on each hole? On some of the holes its almost impossible for me to hit a fairway from the tee as the wind is against me, its always on the par 5's too

    I assume you mean the direction of the wind. The wind on St. Andrew's is on Heavy every time.

    As for the wind, yes it is random. Even if it blows from behind you on one hole, and the next hole is running in the exact same way, it is possible that it will be in your face.
