I use AMs for wedges and putting. I don't choke irons enough to use them on those.

First time I read about AM.  Are there some new avatars with such feature ?
I play with my original generic avatar and seriously have no idea what you guys are talking about.  I might even have used it without knowing that I am using an AM !

Question :  What is an Avatar Movement then ... and how, where and when does one use it for ?

    Learning here :P

I use AM for all my clubs however I do not depend on them for more than 1 .5 movements below full swing. I mapped all my clubs out and found that I never have to go less that 1.5 movements anyway. I always use it on the green and find it to be very accurate on my distances no matter the scale

AM means how many times does the Avatar move or "twitch" each club. Lets say you have a 100 yard club and there are ten movements or "twitches" as you very slowly move you swing power. In theory if you had a 70 yard shot you would move it seven movements and you would go 70 yards. As I mentioned in my previous post I use this method but only for 1.5 twitches off off full power. So with that same 100 yard club I would only use it down to 85 yards. Anything less than that and I would use a lower club. Also when I do it I go to full power and then back it down, Easier to see the movement that way. So for that 85 yard shot I would take my club to full power and then back it down 1 twitch, see where that is on the meter and then take it down a second twitch see where that is and then try to bring my meter back up to half way between the first and second twitch which as I say "in theory" give me an 85 yard shot. Of course your results will vary based on type of ball, type of club blah blah blah but I have found this a good starting point. Also do for get to compensate for the wind.

Avatar movements are better explained in nivlac's Putting Guides over there>>>>>>>>>>>.

And you can use them for any club in the bag. Once you learn them it makes putting chipping and pitching so much easier.

For those still wondering what avatar movements are here's an example

With the Cleveland CG16 60° (L78+) using NO backspin:

    Full shot 81-82 yrds

One avatar or backswing movement down from full is 72

Two movements down from full is 64

Three movements down from full is 55. You can add about one dot of backspin when you choke the Cleveland this much and it'll stop on a dime.

I don't choke that wedge more than 3 movements down.

With the Taylor Made Z Satin 64° (L39+) using just under 1/2 backspin.

    Full 48

    -1 40

    -2 36

    -3 31

    -4 25

I also use the TM with FULL shot around the green quite a bit using avatar movements. But I start with the first movement in the swing. These distances are assuming tourney green speed no elevation.

WIth FULL backspin. Again this is with FULL shot, not chip or pitch or flop or punch.

4 movements from address goes 10 yrds

    With NO backspin

4 movements from address goes 13 yrds

You can fine tune yardages from there. I find the TM to be way more consistent (for me) in the 15 yrd and less range.

Anything over that, assuming I don't have a situation that calls for a flop, I use the Cleve 60° wedge in pitch shot mode. Full backspin will go 25 yrds. One av movement down is 19-20 yrds.

Avatar Movements is a WGT ole school terminology    ie take any club in your bag, start from address, slowly move your swing from start to max distance. Count how many stops, before the club raises, and divide accordingly.

FWIW   with the putter pal, and all the overlays/percentages add-ons, one can use for this game, AM has become more or less useless for an experienced player. IMHO
