I'm lvl 30 and am looking to get my first set of clubs, there are so many choices I don't want to make a bad one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone for your in put, I think I will hold off till lvl 32 before I get anything new and then come back a read your suggestions again it seems like the lvl 32 woods are what most of you suggest.

Heads Up, Bob...you're about to get a whole lot of information and opinions.....here's mine.

My first upgrade was a Spider Putter and some Callaway Slow Meter balls....these were both gifted to me and I noticed the difference RIGHT AWAY. Next came a ATV 64 degree wedge for my flops. After I "learned" how to use these...I was immediately hooked on this game and took the plunge for better clubs. Best advise would be to start slow and don't make too many changes all at once. Learn each addition, master it, then look for gaps or areas that you think need to be addressed and go from there.

Next advise is to keep your eyes on the Pro Shop and do LOT'S of comparisons. They are easy to do and can help a bunch in choosing the right equipment to improve your game.

    Good Luck and Happy Hitting

Bob, when i was coming up through the ranks, the Ping Raptures where a great club to use at your level. Problem is though, im sure WGT has come out with better clubs since then. Maybe if somebody near your level has used them lately, or knows of a better club now, then they will post here for you. Sorry i couldnt be of more help to you.

1st thing to ask yourself is how you are handling the speed  of your starter clubs with using the starter balls. Then gauge whether you think you can handle a faster club or if you need a slower swing. Take into consideration the Precision, distance, forgiveness & feel of the clubs you are considering. You can have great distance but if there isn't enough forgiveness than you will pay with much more errant shots when miss hitting. Feel of clubs can be compensated with using balls with more of that.

Try to keep your clubs approximately the same swing speed as much as possible. A good set of wedges with more spin  is paramount and you are better off with 4 including your PW in your Iron set. Try to keep their distance difference between 15-20 yds to your PW. You can include having 4 by dumping the hybrid which your 3W will handle any distance that would cover.

    These are all Med/high

The L25 Raptures are going to be closest to the speed that you now are using but you suffer with precision and Spin for stopping.

The L 27 RocketBallz are slightly faster and you gain with both Precision, forgiveness and more spin.

The L32 R11's give you the most distance, precision & spin but slightly less forgiveness and are twice as fast as you are using now. However if you can get used to the speed they will give you much more stopping power and IMO would take you farther in this game without replacement.

Wedges it is a toss up between the ATV's and Cleveland's. The Cleveland's love to spin back and need more practice.

Putter is strictly a matter of choice.

Would buy the same as i have now witch is:

At level 32 the 2010 Rapture V2 10.5 Driver and the 2010 Rapture V2 3 Fairway Wood. Next i bought my TaylorMade Ghost Spider putter at level 35 witch really made my scores come down.

At level 37 i got the TaylorMade RocketBallz Tour Iron set witch is kinda tricky in the beginning but after a while you will get used to it. Most of the time the ball will stick to the green with this iron set and the Tour-S Balls.

For wedges i bought the level 41 Ping Tour-W 52 wedge and at level 42 the Ping Tour-W 58 and the 64 degree wedge, as the where cheaper and not that much worse then the TaylorMade ATV's but if you have the credits i would buy the ATV's of course.

So my advise would be to level up instead of buying gear lower then your level.

    Great objective review by OBR

All depends on your budget and what meter speed you can cope with. You are better off going with a set that will last you (by taking you to the higher tiers), and as such I would go the R11 route along with 3 wedges. The full set is good value and will carve shots off your scoring when you get used to the clubs.

The other thing you will need to do is use better balls, not only for spin and distance but you could get a ball with better feel to slow the meter down.
