I've had a few instances lately that don't make sense.

Playing full shot wedge shots around the green from different distances have become a lottery.

One shot stops as expected but another will suck back off the green ...very frustrating.

I hit a 40ft wedge with my Cleveland   CG 16 64 out of a 25% lie on Bethpage No 4 ...a shot i've played many times and it landed as expected but sucked back off the green about 15 yrds.

A sure birdie chance turned into a bogey WTF.

Normally the ball would have taken a hop or two and stopped dead and the fact the shot was in the rough should have meant less backspin not more.

Anyone got any answers I'd appreciate it as it's giving me the yips?

The only time you need to add Backspin to the Cleveland wedges is when chipping pitching and flopping from around the green. If anything add a touch of topspin instead,

yeah what these guys said before me is the go....+ wind in yr face and or uphill landing zone..it will spin back alot more...put some forward spin on the ball and hit a few less yrds..and low ruff say up to 25% will only take off ruffly 5 yrds with the best wedges depending on what spin u have on it..

ex my 60 yrd clev with half to 3/4 forward spin with no wind and flat land..will get ruffly 62-65 yrds, if i want 60 exact i can back off a few yrds and it will not roll more then a yrd if that..as it goes leaving the spin at middle they still have backspin ,so a slight forward spin will make it stop dead..u have to tweak it as u learn these clubs and remember balls will make a difference ..do trial & error, takes a while to get use to the better wedges.... it will come...good luck
