Last night I was bumped up to the Legend tier (seemingly randomly, I hadn't played a round and didn't notice until this morning). I was under the impression that the greens for Legends and Tour Masters are the same, with Legends merely having longer tees. I loaded a StA free tourney to ease myself in... and proceeded to bogey the first four holes after hitting GIR each time. I was three putting six footers, ball sliding around like it was on glass, moderate breaks having dramatic effect. Are the Legend greens indeed different from TM, was this a bug, or have I just lost my mind and need to practice my putting more? Haha.

Masters ....Tounament green speeds....as a general rule of thumb ..figure as normal..then..for every 6 foot remove a foot ..5 footers or less hit as normal

Both Legends and Tour Masters use "Tournament greens", do they not? I've been busy lately and haven't had time to play consistently, so I feel like everything is in doubt at this point haha.

TM tournament greens are about 5 % slower than Legend tournament greens. About 1/2 way between very fast and Legend tournament greens.

Tournament greens aren't just one speed.  I think it was said that they run from 11-12 feet( or 12-13) on the stimp meter. TM's run on the slower end and Legend greens runs at the faster end. You probably never notice the difference as a TM playing with Legends, but now is when you see it. You'll adjust in a few rounds.

    Yeesh...

Thank you very much for the explanation, all of you. As much as I'm not excited about having to relearn how to putt, I guess the silver lining is that the alternative was that I had completely forgotten how to putt to begin with haha.

Nah - you received a payout of 64 crs from your 28 in a weekly tournament - that did it for you.

Sad thing is that there is probably some truth in that. :))

This has been discussed many times before.  There are two versions of tournament speed and for whatever reason WGT chooses not to made the name of them different.  It is about 5% difference, with Legend being faster of course.

It is always a pain to start a tournament and see tournament speed and assume it is one or the other and leave your putt 2 inches short dead in the middle until you wake up and realize that it is the slower version of these.
