    Hey all

Having a blast with the game and finally "bought in"...joined on Dec. 18 currenly lvl 38 with a Avg of 73 (so still some (a lot of) work to do)

Got my first club yesterday - ghost spider lvl 35 - and deinately see an improvement.  Burning edges like crazy and sinking way more putts -

Now I am thinking about getting some others.....but could use a litte advice.

Irons - thinking of the lvl32 R11s - kinda expensive but seem to have the best stats.  Reviews appear mixed - some say inconsistant. Question would be how far into the game will these take me - get through master?.  Dont want to have to upgrade for a while if I dont have to.  Also not sure I want any faster of a meter speed than that - I have a pretty shaky meter a lot of the time so swing speed and foregiveness are crucial.  Also lvl 48 rapture V2 looks compelling but not sure I want to wait that long...

Driver -also looking at R11 lvl40 - again same question as above in terms of at what point will I need to upgrade.  I think I would rather have the 9.5 as opposed to the 10.5 that comes in the full club set and think I might prefer having 3 wedges

3w - lvl30 R11 looks like a good deal - thoughts?  Could be used as driver for awhile at least from Pro tees.

Wedges - what do you all think Cleavland lvl 29/30s, ATV lvl38/39s or Pings lvl41/42 (at 200 they seem like a good deal) - I understand matching them to your irons is important in terms of filling the gaps but again dont want to have to upgrade for awhile

I know most say to rent in advance but that could get expensive too so looking for any thoughts, suggestions or advice you all might have.

Also have not joined a cc or have friends in network so if you'd be interested in a game sometime let me know.

(Edit) Lastly - I just noticed the definition of forgiveness on the club ratings - says "Forgiveness: Displays how much Distance and Precision the ball will lose if not hit perfectly"- So the more dots the LESS forgiving the club is.....Is that correct?  Seems a little backwards.....you'd think more dots the more forgiving the club would be......  that might seriously affect my choices (read G10 irons driver and ping wedges perhaps - which  would be much more comfortable on my wallet)

Anyhooo - Thanks in advance for your insights and replying to yet another "what clubs to get" post

    Cheers!

Unless you know what works for you, renting is a good idea.

Here's my two cents worth. I joined in November and played a while with starter clubs. Got 4,000 points by joining bidz.com (bought my wife a nice watch for Christmas) and purchased the level 33 2010 Raptures - I am now shooting around a 71. I absolutely love the clubs, one of the slower meters and big forgiveness WHICH I REALLY NEED. Precision is low but I still put most of my shots where they are supposed to go so I'm not really sure how precision works. Even more forgiving are the level 36 Ping K15's - read the reviews they are all very positive.

I then purchased 3 Ping wedges at level 41/42. They are less forgiving and have a faster meter but great precision and when I ding them I can stop the ball within easy putting distance. Needless to say I don't ding them as much as my irons.

Have now done a lot of surveys and am planning on renting the level 59 Ping G20's - faster meter, less forgiving so I can write a follow-up in a week or two and let you know how the rental works out and if the game is still fun with the faster meter.

I have no desire to shoot in the 50's and make supreme master, I enjoy the comraderie of alternate shot here so I'm getting what I need out of my clubs.

Don't know if this helps you at all but thought I'd share my early experience with this game.
