Ok guys and gals,
I'm thinking of piloting an interclub league on my challonge.com site. Here's how it would work. For now I'm thinking of pitting only top tier cups (top 10 or so). Each club would submit 7 seeded singles players. These players would need to be active.
I would create a round robin pool for each seed level (challonge acct matching wgt userid would need to be created for all participants to report scores and post SCs).
Each player would simply play a 9 hole match against every other player in their pool. Matches would be practice mode with predetermined tees and conditions ala the old slors method. Just off the top of my head, I can see a point structure as follows:
- Win = 5
- Tie = 2
- Loss = 1
- Incomplete = 0
Total points across all tiers at finish determines club rank.
I estimate this scope of event could run in 1 month. We'd need a rule to allow substitutions. What say you?
UPDATE: Winter Skin-vitational
Skins format. Each skin counts as a point toward the club total.
For the pilot:
- East Coast + 4 other clubs
- 5 participant teams (just to get the through the event quickly)
