Re: OMG Tourny speeds - Cabo

  Sheesh - 

  So I played the first 9 of the Jan. Cabo tourny and did ok (-3)....then today I thought i'd finish that off.  Went and played a practice round dropping 40c and shot -5 --- But that was on my tier tees and green speeds.....so I fire up the second round and low and behold I 4 putt the first two greens - didnt realize it until the 3rd hole but by that time I was on complete tilt.  I dont recall the first 9 of this tourney having  tournament green speeds....in fact I am almost certain, otherwise I would not have done so well - plus I was using free balls at that time......did they change the format in between rounds?

  Whole new respect for the game....that was NOT easy.  Even using the 30% less formula it was a new world out there.....the breaks are sooooo much more severe.  Ended up with a 42....yikes.

  try playing them on championship. loads of fun! :)

  If you are talking about the multi round at Cabo the greens were suppose to be Tournament, but the were so slow I missed 3 birdies due to the ball stopping right on the edge. But in the famous words  of Pizza " we don't mess with the game" yeah right it just magically happens.

  OH and I was hitting them stronger than normal for Tourney Greens

  yeah the delta between the first  and the second rounds were miles apart  -- MILES....back to back 4 putts....I dont think I have 4 putted once in this game.

  I mean I am starting to get the hang of the game...but that was crazy.  shot -5 before hand then a -6 at STA just after....Oh well.....buyer be warned....Probably should just go spend some time on practice rounds set at Tourny and get used to it because at this rate ill be at Master sooner than I want...

  I noticed the same thing in the free multiround tourney. Went from very fast greens in front mine to tournament greens in second nine. Here is the twist it has been happening to me for about eight weeks so I am using it as practice for when I get to the master tier. Also, played from the master tees instead of the tour pro tees. Managed to get bronze tournament awards for the multiround turney twice in the last three weeks so must be getting better.

  I thought that must have been what was happening....thanks for the sanity check and will keep an eye out for this moving forward.

  Been wondering about that - are the speed sometimes Legend Tournament and sometime Master Tournament? Hard to tell for sure until you get a long putt, but my feeling is that they are always (almost?) Master
  
  Would be nice if they had different names
