if WGT had done the smart thing and made a 290 yrd only avalible to L TL and  between LVL 80-90 somewere this would not even been a question.

Fact number 1. People shot those low scores not because of the long drives but because of the incredible precision on the approach.

Fact 2 there is no way a person in real life can hit the ball with in 10-15 ft. of the hole every approach. Its just not possible.

Last and final point for the 290 driver.

I am a 6ft and 1 inch man weighing in at 200 pounds and in very good shape. I play golf only here and there and have a hack set of clubs. I can consistently hit the ball between 280 and 300 YRD and typically pretty strait. There is no reason this game has us playing with avg drives of 284 ish and say that’s real life type drives. If they need to tweek something it is the ability of the irons to be so good

In the news section it stated, In fact, the new sound on WGT when you hit the virtual driver is the actual sound from us hitting the real driver,

that may be true, but that's not the sound I'm hearing when it's hit off the tee.  it sounds like a ball struck from heavy rough.........or I suppose a driver hitting the practice mat and totally whiffing the ball

i wonder if it's a 'setting or degree' thing.  Maybe just one makes a sound inconsistent with a real tee shot
