Most unrealistic thing about the bunkers i think, is when u dribble in  and u get a 30-40 lie... if ur g`ball runs into a bunker it stays on top of sand , not buried

In real golf I used to practice all the time. The only bunker lies I dreaded were the fluffy fried egg and the plugged sand shots. If the ball was sitting up nicely in a greenside bunker, I could usually get enough spin on it to stop it on a dime.

Now, I'm not necessarily suggesting it be changed, but right now, if you're in a bunker with a specific lie, you have usually 1 option, which is a little unrealistic.

The thing regarding bunker play that I'd LIKE to see changed is the default %'s on any given course. Are we to believe there isn't a 15-20% bunker lie anywhere on Congo?

    Just food for thought.

i very much agree you should be able to get some spin on bunker shots that aren't a bad lie (i.e. anything better than 20-25%).

also agree rolling in and getting a 30-40 lie is rather ridiculous.

Anyone with less than a 60% sand save% should really practice more. The use of the right shot is very important. So many players use a chip or pitch when using a percentage shot on full is more rewarding. Bunker play on here really isn't that hard.

Courtney, could you explain a little more your comment about chip and pitch,I'm not sure I understand.Full is more rewarding?I'm french so I'm not sure if your saying that chip,or pitch,or even punch is a good way,or better full.Thank you.

All this talk about greenside bunkers, what about fairway?  Those are unrealistically difficult in my opinion. In real world unless you are buried you have a lot more choices than wedging it out all the time.  But if there is a tip to share on it besides don't hit it in the bunker, lol  I'm all ears.

I never practice on practice mode,I practice on ranked rounds but don't finish the round.

Doe's it affect my stats if I make six or seven putts on a green,or go in and out of sand till I reach 9.

    Probably not,but not 100% sure.

Courteneyfish, you keep denigrating players who don't have the sand save "mastery" you do, and unless you're being paid by WGT, you're missing the point entirely (IMO).  The point, I believe, and as bynela1 tried to explain, is NOT that sand shots are impossible or even incapable of being played.  The point is that sand play on the game does not remotely resemble real life golf ... and sand shots most real golfers can play in real life CANNOT be played in this game regardless of how much practice you put in.

bynela1's request is reasonable and he's correct.

I love people that dig up 6 month old threads just to have a go at me. Bneyla is in my country club and we get on fine. His bunker play has improved a lot too since then. I think the sand works as well as it can in this game although it can't replicate the real stuff the results can be worked out pretty easily. If you'd like any tips just look me up. :-)
