    Hello WGT community.

I hope someone here might be able to help me with an incredibly annoying problem I'm having with my computer.

The scenario is:  I'm playing WGT, everything is good.  No other programs are running, no other windows are open.  I turn away from the computer and when I turn back it's gone to sleep and will not wake up.  I have to do a hard power off and restart.  I know it sounds silly but it's ONLY when I look away, sometimes only for a second or two to throw something in the bin beside me.  It will also do it when using other software if I've been playing WGT earlier and the computer has not been restarted in between.

It's driving me nuts, I'm afraid to stop playing and look away or get up, especially in a multi player game.  It just did it to me playing a game on Best of Par 3 with a fellow CC member.  Sorry Als.

I'm running XP, all service packs and updates are installed.  I use either Firefox and Maxthon to play WGT, browse the forums etc. in Firefox and play games in Maxthon.  I did wonder if it might be a Maxthon issue as it started around the same time I started using it but I was using Firefox tonight, to see if it would also crash.  I don't know which Flash version I'm using, I was too pizzed off to restart the computer.

Anyone else had anything like this?  Found a solution?

    Many thanks.

So with no input from the user, your computer hard locks. Sounds like an overheating problem to me.

Try opening your computer tower and use some compressed air on all the vents/fans you can find (you may want to do this outdoors). After the cleaning, if your computer still locks up you may have a hardware problem.

I had a problem like this awhile back and I just disabled the sleep mode and went with  a screensaver.              Good Luck
