Brilliant find - brought back memories. Ive played a few 3 club comps in my time and we tried a 7I and putter comp in the CC on here, was a huge amount of fun and laughs. If you try it on here starters balls are recommended lol - WGT may beg to differ though!

The Deviations  hosted the 7 iron challenge a few years ago. You could only use a 7 iron and your putter. But I was mistaken about who hosted it. It was Ivathongon and extragold.I didn't enter as I didn't think I was good enough. But from the posts I read the players had a blast.

    LOL

I have played a few friendly practice rounds where each player chose just one club, tee to green, putts and all.

Things really got interesting when I suggested wedges only.  :)

I just played a practice round on the front side of St. Andrews using just my 7 iron and putter. No I didn't use the fee ball. I have plenty of Bx-D's and Be-S balls to use. It was laughable. I only managed to get to the fairway on 2 holes. #1 and by aiming well right was able to gt just to the fairway on #9. I made 1 par  on #8 everything else was a double or worse. My 9 hole score with 2 penalty strokes was 62. But it was fun trying.

LOL -  a super hard task from legends tees!

And Born a 52 is not too bad - I think mine was a similar score but agreed.was a lot of fun, especially playing with someone.

But then I set up a CC tourny and only after I set it up I realized it was ranked so quickly wrote in the forums - wrong format - do not play. Perhaps the Professional Sandbaggers CC do this lol

I remember watching a video from Seve (I think) and he used one club to prove how to manipulate shots af varying distances. I think it may have been a wood and played a full range of shots long to short. Amazing control.

LOL I misread (old age creeping up), I double-checked my score - was a 55 but from masters tees

Edit - Will try again in a bit (actually at work) and will let you know how I get on this time - probably not for another couple of hours.

Well I did it from legends tees 64 including  pars #1 (50 foot putt) and #8. Fescue killed me lol. Recommend to all to try
