There is no consistency in the chipping part of this game  unless you are one inch of the green its all guesswork, the flop is no different than a pitch. I find it more than frustrating and will not be purchasing any credits in the future to play in the ready go tournaments regrettably. the rest of the game is tremendous Except for the pin placements in the  RGos almost impossible most of the time unless your less than 3 feet away and evan   then  youve got yo be so precise with the speed i know thats the point but its not realistic  More variety in course choice would be nice to, thanks for hearing my complaints

    hi

I have found those 3 elements to be some of the more reliable in the game. Have you had a chance to read this guide? Many folks have found it to be very helpful.

    1) The caddie's proposal "Chip" is wrong most of the time - take care to land on fringe or green or choose another shot.

    2) your description of the characteristics is true for the Starter wedges that you use. It will be a good investment to buy some custom wedges replacing them, I'd propose from Ping clubs up.

    3) Chips are the most sensible shots, they require quite a lot of practice.

    Have fun!

I only chip on flat greens when the pin is within 8 yards and I'm less than a yard from the green. You'll soon be moving up to the Master tier when you'll need 3 evenly spaced wedges and it should all become a lot easier then.

Ok. as sorry as it is  to say, there  as many of 40 to 50% of real golfers who don't know the difference between the chip shot and the pitch shot in real golf. They hit a wedge pitch shot from 15 yards or so and call it a chip. Then they come here and hit the chip where they should use the pitch but not knowing the difference in real life they start complaining that the chip shot is not consistent with real golf. Those of us who do know the difference hit what we do in real life. A chip is a short low shot that should only be hit from the fringe or very light rough just off the green. Anything else should be a pitch,a flop or even a punch with the very poor starter wedges. Learn the difference between what the chip and pitch really are and you will find it much easier to play the short game.

OK I have the high level Cleves.  Chipping they are deadly accurate even with me to operate them! I notice you have the starter wedges ?  (I only looked quick). May try looking at the link and then upgrade? if you can.  I found pings very accurate for the price, but with the starter ball???  There is another thread on what players think of the starter equipment describing the attributes....................
