Well, it's about time I said hello in this section of the forum really!

I've made a few posts elsewhere in the forum, and was thinking I should introduce myself here soon, and today I was promoted to master rank, so it's definately time I said hello : ).

I'm Valrec (game-name), English, live on the South Coast of England, 46 yrs young, never played a round of golf IRL yet (though I really should have, I love the game, and hope to get started at it soon, recession permitting!). Not really played many golf games on PC much before either, they lacked a realistic feel. But I do rather like WGT.

I've been playing WGT for just over a month, and was just getting a feel for the game over the last two weeks, had some fairly decent scores, won a few minor trophies in tournaments, nothing special, but pleasing none the less.

And just as I get to feel comfortable with the game, my promotion to master arrived. It's a whole new game now; longer holes, faster greens, bigger winds, a new challenge!

I can't say I felt ready for master level, but it is here so I must be ready, ummm, I think....; )

I expect my score average to go up a bit for a while ; )

Mind you, my first round out with a new TM R9 TP Master Driver at  St Andrews from the master tees and very fast greens (and  very high winds!) was a 71, so that's not too bad. (Hit deep into the weeds to the right on the 13th after slicing a drive badly for a DB; the new driver taught me a valuable lesson about itself there!).

I'm not having too much trouble with the distances on the fast greens, but getting used to how they break is going to take a while!

    So anyway,

Hello to you all, it's good to be here. Enjoy the game : )

    Valrec

Welcome Valrec!  Just remember, when you play your first round of real golf it'll be far tougher than anything you've ever done on WGT.  X10!

The potential for frustration and beastly shots in the real game makes WGT look like tiddlywinks.

Thanks for the welcome, doublemochaman : ) And thanks for the advise/warnings about the real game, lol!

A friend of mine plays, took out a guy for a fun round who'd not played before, on a local links course, lent him clubs and balls; he banned his friend from the driver after about 8 holes because he was losing so many balls, : ).
