    iMonStar:
Somebody mentioned something about, "Teeing Off From Legend Tier".
I have no idea what that means. LOL
When you look at the hole info in the game menu (or before each hole if you didn't deactivate it yet), you'll notice that there are several distances given in the center. The coloured dots left of these indicate the teeing areas which in the real game are used by players of different skills or gender. Here, they are combined with the tiers like Amateur, Pro... Legend and Tour Legend. In advancing, the players' skills grow, thus they are placed to locations further back. You advanced to the second set when becoming a Pro, further steps are at Master and Legend tier.

Thus, the Legends play from the furthest tees (1), corresponding to their usage in the Open Championships on these courses. These are "the tips", properly speaking, "parking lot" and other slang expressions are common here. This is meant by the saying which you cited.

    (1) usually. In some cases, Legend tees are shorter than Master tees.

In very few cases are the legend tees shorter than the masters, I can think of 2 off the top of my head but not any more.

In terms of the wedges.  People tend to forget that they have a wedge in their iron set that you buy...........the Pitching Wedge.  When players talk about four wedges we are generally talking about a bag that contains..............Driver, 3 wood, 3 - 9 iron and PW, 3 lower wedges, in my case 56 / 60 / 64 degree.   The key is to keep the space between your clubs as consistent as possible.

My driver is rated at 287 and three wood at 240.

    My 3 iron is 225, 4 210, 5 195, 6 180, 7 165, 8 150, 9 135, PW 120.

    My Wedges are 100  80  60.

With the ability to punch you make it so those gaps are less and spin helps close them even more.

From the legend tees, you miss more greens and thus use your wedges more, often from sand and deep rough so you want wedges that work well from those areas too.
