I am new here. Sorry if this has been brought up before.

I remember from the Links LS days the ability to step back and take a few practice swings to get a feel for the meter before taking an actual swing. Being new to this game, it takes a few holes to get the swing down.

Maybe play a couple of practice holes before you start a ranked round.

    Yes what Apex said.

I always used to warm up with a friendly Blitz game before ranked rounds.

I was also thinking of times when your timing gets off in round. It would be nice to take a couple practice swings to get back in timing. Happened bad to me last night. Had a great front 9. I hit one bad shot, then another, then a couple bad putts adn triple bogey later. The rest of the back 9 didn't get any better. Went from a below par front 9 to a +10 for the round. The practice swing may or may not helped. And admittedly, the wife nagging behind me didn't help either.
