I recently found out a good friend of mines passed away.  WGTname (Chris2112)

I was thinking how about a page reserved on WGT.com for our members/players/friends who have lost there lives?  I think it would be a  great idea to pay some kind of tribute to our  Golfing family.

Or what about  a golf ball we could purchase with they're avatar name; that we could play and possibly some proceeds going to the family?>   Just a thought.

You know we loose friends and family all the time and I'd love to have a place for them to be remembered, Especially on the game that they spend a lot of there time playing and talking with online friends.

Chris loved this game and now he's gone :(

So I would really like to see a Tribute page for these guys!

Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcomed.

    Ox

Such a shock to hear this very sad news. Chris only played a few days ago so it's all very sudden.

My thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

I think a tribute page would be a fantastic idea.

The thought had crossed my mind a while back, but i thought it would not happen. We had a member who passed away a couple of years back, and we all miss him badly. It would be nice to see something like this take off for sure. How about it WGT?

Thoughts and prayers to Chris2112's family and friends also.

Wonderful idea. In  remembrance of page. WGT should start this immediately, I still have a friend on my list that left us last year. He is gone, but not forgotten.

I  think  its a great idea, much the same as a Golf Club may have a plaque on their wall for past members etc.

However, being the devils advocate here..  unless WGT can provide better moderation of the forums, this thread may end up horribly off-topic in a very short time.

We already have English Nazi's littered in the threads offering their  grammar  and punctuation corrections without offering any substance to the topic..

We will experience completely unrelated posts and questions in the thread and may even witness some kind of argument or two.

I love the idea of paying respect to passed members, those who have gained friendships in  WGT.

We can only try it out and keep our fingers crossed some respect happens from somewhere to  perpetuate  the goodwill of the topic.

That is only too true Shrude. So my suggestion would be for WGT to make it a thread where members could not post. They could come up with some kind of graphic and put the names of those players who have departed on it, but something that would be extra special in the graphics department. As you said, clubs have plaques, so maybe WGT could have a memorial wall or something. Members can still post messages to those players personnel walls anyway.

Top Idea in the first place and yes it would need to be done by WGT to prevent the thread from hijacking and keeping it tasteful.

Wow, I played with your friend in AS before, I'm so sorry for your loss.

I also agree 100% with your suggestions, .

Pass my sympathy along to his family, and take care yourself.
