I moved up to Master and now im doing good to shoot even. I know i've backed up to the farthest away tees but what else is increasing the difficulty?

You've moved to the second to the farthest tees back. There's still one more behind you. The green speed has also been upped.

With each tier your average resets anyway so you have to play it back down again. Then it starts all over again at the next tier jump.

It's tough moving up to Master, apart from the jump to Legend it's the hardest move. You might want to dump the hybrid and go with 3 wedges and see if you can afford a longer hitting driver. With practice you'll soon get the hang of it.

Yes, yes, no. Green speed stays at "very fast" until the next move to Tour Master.

Remember that every tourney started before the change may be played to the genuine conditions, i.e. shorter tees. May be nice as a cushion for the new average calc.

+1 . Also , get a better ball , you cant play with the rock now .So get a ball with 1 dot of feel , and some spin .If you can afford it , try the srixons 11+ , 180 credits a sleeve. If not , you can get the cheaper WGT balls , but by all means get rid of the rock .By the way, congrats on making Master , and hope you have fun. Start playing stroke play practice rounds to relearn ball placement , and to work on your putting. Hope this helps. Happy Swinging

    Hi Jeff!

Congratulations on getting to Master! My average is only at 72.1 now, and I'm struggling to get it lower. In fact I just played a game at Merion and scored 6 over par, which luckily didn't count towards my average. I don't mind though, because I love playing and I get to meet really awesome people.

I've found the hole positions seem harder, the green speeds have increased, and the wind seems to be harder to predict.

I hope you have lots of fun and please don't get discouraged!

    Regards,

    Miffy

Thanks for the help everybody. I was wondering the same thing about the balls. I tried a sleeve of the MLB balls just for kicks cause im a big baseball fan so I think I'll try some more. I'm using a G20 driver and i'm still hitting the fairways at a pretty good rate but im not getting as close to the pin with my 2nd shot.(on par 4's)
