I am thinking about upgrading my driver. On paper, I think the Callaway looks slightly better, but I read very little about it. Any suggestions?

The G20 has the same meter speed as the starters .If you want to stay with the slow meter , get the G20 .Its a great club , and the irons are sweet as well . You will also need some wedges , 3 is what most of us play with . When picking your wedges , start with your p/w and work backwards .Space your wedges 15-20 yards apart , but dont get a wedge , with the same yardage as your p/w , because you dont want duplicate clubs. Hope this helps. Play well and have fun . Happy Swinging

Thank you very much. Good advice on the wedges, too.

Just to throw a wrench in things, I'd also really look at putting the R1 into contention.

The G20 is a very nice driver. I had the lower lvl driver and 3W and now the upper level. And the higher is much better than the lower one.

Even though it's a lower level the R1 is a beast. A friend just got it over the higher lvl G20.

I agree that wedges are very important.  The Pings are a great buy and very very good. I now have the higher level Clevelands and highly recommend them.

Wedges will probably lower your score at least 2 shots.

The Bladez at lvl 69 are great!

My suggested clubs reflect what I use.

R1 driver L48; monster driver, will easily take you to Legend. Get under the ball with it, watch it fly. Great forgiveness to boot. Next stop L81 G20?

R11s 3wood L41. Accurate, and you can get the ball to almost sit with fbs on a full shot on even ground, low wind (and a great ball). Great forgiveness, perfect partner for the R1 IMO. Will take you to Legend. Next stop L81 G20 3W?

    Wedges. Cleveland. 56 L27, 60 L29, 64 L31. Upgrade each as they become available (L76, 78, 80).

L59 G20. High loft, great spacing, accurate for the level they are. Next stop, L79 Rocketbladez.

IMO, your putter is the most personal decision you will make, more so even than the ball you choose. I have owned five, and the Odyssey Versa L70 is "it" for me. When I get to L92 and there is a free rental weekend, I will try the Ghost Spider L92, but I have no need to try anything else. I hit the ding decently, and do not try to not ding on purpose; I analyze and adjust the "aiming arrow," come up with a distance, and use the increment that will allow me accuracy + shortest swing. Hope some of this helped, though it is more than you asked.

Thank you lonniescott711, bluzgolf, frogdog311, JAMESBALDINI and KittyWumpus! My consecutive day streak ended yesterday so I have more time to think about it before I even qualify for the Level 67 Callaway. Again, I think the Callaway looks great, but no one even mentioned it. I get the feeling that I may have to get it just to be different! I'll report back!

Also, great advice on wedges and putters. I will have to look into those, too as a have a so-so putter and beginner wedges.
