It is not realistic and players are using it gain an unfair advantage. STOP IT.
Many pros have used wedges on the greens. But only if it is the best or only alternative. So it is realistic and more importantly legal.
I only use wedges on the greens when to use the putter would be virtually impossible to get even close to the hole. The best example of that for me is # 7 @ St.Andrews with the pin on the front right. With a good tail wind I drove the green ending up in the right middle of the green with fairway between my ball and the hole. If I had chosen to putt it I would have had to putt way to the left leaving an almost impossible 40 to 50 foot birdie putt. Pitching over the fairway toward the hole I got close enough to make birdie.
And if players gain an unfair advantage over you using a wedge you should worry more about your putting than them using wedges on the green.
