Personally I've been known to have a gin & tonic... or five.  And post.  All is well.

Hey YJ... I have no ax to grind with you.

Your rep precedes you, bud. I totally thought you were kidding him right along with me. Now I have to go back and read your post in a different light.

See what you get for being a wiseguy sometimes?  LOL   ;-)

p.s., I'm assuming you also knew one of Bill Cosby's funniest bits.

    [gravelly voice....."Hey, hey, hey...."] :-)

    bypass07:

you can't dismiss Glen Abbey - home of the Canadian Open - which I believe should be a Major tournament !!

Ahhh ..Glen Abbey ... brings back memories.    Short Story ...

It's 1979 .. I'm 25 yrs old and it's my 3nd year working for a big company.   I win an award and they take me and about 600 of my closest friends to Toronto for a recognition conference in August.    I had taken up golf May of that year .. and they tell us if we choose we can get free rental clubs and balls and play at this great new Glen Abbey course (it opened in 1976 - and I have no clue what type of course it is .. let alone any golf course at this age).  This would be about the 4th time I'm on a real golf course

So I get dressed up in my brand new khaki "Dockers" and new red LaCoste golf shirt and get on the bus with 50 or so others.   Needless to say ... no one told me that at Glen Abbey - they considered "Dockers" to be jeans .. and won't let me on the course.    So some guy calls back to the hotel ... to someone high up in the company ... and they tell him to let me buy pants at the pro shop and play.

Now .. the only pants that fit me were ridiculously over priced bright blue and white striped pants .. looks like something Rodney would have worn in Caddy Shack,  and they clashed horribly with my red shirt.  They are not hemmed and I have to roll them up ... but they keep falling down and get filthy.  On the 2nd hole my zipper snaps and is wide open the rest of the round.    I look like something the cat dragged in ... but I play ... I think I shot about 150 ... and ... i hit a guy in the A$$ when I hit one dead right off the tee box.   All in all .. a very memorable round.

That night .. at the big recognition dinner ... while the Spinners are singing "Rubber Band Man" the I'm sitting next to the President of our company (at the time) and he says ... so did anyone play golf today ?    I say .. yeah I did .. it was a hard course.   He says ... did you hear about the guy who wore jeans to the course ???   What an idiot !!!!

Not sure what to say ... but needing to say the right thing .... I reply ... yeah what an idiot !!!! ...

I'm now in my 36th year with that company ..... I think I said the right thing.
