I'm pretty good at WGT golf.  I made it to Master level at level 39 and Tour Master at level 49. I've played some level 90 Tour Pros, Masters and Tour Masters that have some of the upper "level" equipment.  Even though I have made it to a higher level than these level 90 tour pros, I can't buy the equipment they have.

I think WGT should take into consideration the player's Tier when unlocking equipment ... not what level they are at.  I've purchased or have been gifted 12 "level-ups", just to get to a level where I'm not getting punished for tiering up so quickly.

Guys, please take the tier into consideration when unlocking gear.  Right now, it seems the best way to win in WGT tournaments is to simply play practice rounds until you get to a high level, then buy the higher level equipment.

Please fix this issue, WGT.  This is a bit unfair to those who tier up quickly.

    Kat

If you dont want to tier up quickly , dont play for credits , or play higher tiered players . Start playing stroke play practice rounds , and get your XP points that way. Put your time in , and learn the game. I took my time , and now I`m level 94 T/M , and just a few points away from Legend . I have some of the top clubs , and have never come up short , because I took my time to come up . There will be plenty of golf to play , so take the time , and get your self ready . Happy Swinging

It appears that playing Match Play games doesn't effect your average either.  I'm a bit competitive and really hate to lose, so just playing practice games doesn't work well for me. I never said I didn't want to tier up quickly, it's just in this game you're pretty much a fool if you do, since clubs are distributed based on level, not tier.

In my opinion, this current method of club distribution lends itself to sandbagging.

I want to agree with this, but I can also see other points of view.

IMO, I think WGT might have done things this way to level the field a little. If someone is talented enough to reach Legend so soon, they should be talented enough to hold their own as Legend. Will it be tough? Absolutely!!! Does it discourage really good players from continuing? Perhaps. I have seen several "skyrocket" accounts go virtually dead in these situations.

And then there is the "unspeakable" reason. Multiaccounters and the like. Someone joins up, figures out the game, and then rejoins with a new profile, and they can now proceed with their goal, be it to reach Tour Legend faster than everyone else (Look at me!!!), or to clean up on Ready Go's, or whatever.

IMO, Legend is the great equalizer. I had to trade my awesome L41 R11s and L48 R1 driver for clubs with less forgiveness just to gain about 10yds for those few holes that are difficult to reach now, and wait for L94 and 95 to be eligible to grab clubs like my previous ones but with that extra bit of yardage. It can be tough somedays, as I am not consistent at hitting the ding (quite bad actually, lol). But, each time I feel I have figured out how to play well, a new challenge has been presented, be it faster greens, tees further back, or new equipment that demands better skill from me.

It sucks, yes. But, it is also the greatest challenge I have faced.
