I think its a joke that you can't gift a club to a friend. Your friend paid 2000cr's for a driver and gifts it to a buddy and then buys another for additional 2000cr's. How are you loosing. Plus if your friend bought the club why can't he do with it as he pleases. Sounds like BS to me.
It's not BS it's to stop the cheating Multi accounters. They're bad enough as it is but if your idea was allowed then you'd have L1 Hacks being gifted top flight equipment and stealing thousands off the naive and gullible.
Also the game is designed for better or worse (but that's another discussion entirely) so that you can only get the higher level equipment as you progress to higher tiers, you cannot just 'buy your way to the top'. Gifting items beyond your level (or in instances tier) would bypass this.
Edit: Having checked your profile I think you know all about multis, lots of Hacks in that CC of yours all with very similar names. What's up lack of imagination?
