  This old guy is not the brightest bulb on computers, so if you have a solution, PLEASE, keep it simple. 

  While playing the game ads have started poping on the bottom left of the screen over the ball speed.  Is the pop-up program in my computer?  And how the heck do I get rid of it?  Download a blocker?

  Adblock or Adhunter should help. It depends on what browser you use.

  I downloaded a different one and it didn't work.  I have Micro XP.  Will try one of the ones you advised.
