Whenever I play this game, my hard drive or the fan is just howling.  It is at these times that the swing meter stutters causing shots way off track.  Does anyone have an answer.  Running 4gs of memory if that makes any difference and Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.  Appreciate any suggestions.

Used to have the same prob and sometimes still do...though rarely.

Try Maxthon, clearing 'global settings, turning reflections off, setting flash quality to medium, WGT lessons off, hole info display off, and invitation alerts in audio off..

Works for me with a few other things too......like a prop under back of laptop to let air flow and a fan rotating to enable stagnent air to move, with the kicker of cooling me down too  !!!! :)

    2.35 am and 32 C here now...about 89.6 F in old money :))

    Teamster174:

Several threads have been devoted to the glitchy meter problem and sounds like Andy has a good solution for you.

You might also try 2 other things that have been suggested before:

    1) Practice swing - Draw your power bar all the way to the left & release it - let the bar run all the way to the right (don't try to stop it)  - then draw the power bar to what you want and 'ding' it (lol). For some reason, the second time aground - the meter bar is smoother.

    2) Hold your club at the desired power position for 3-5 seconds before releasing it for the shot.  This works pretty well with my old XP machine. Be advised though, this method may cause some dweebe to call you out for cheating (lmao).

    Good luck.

    Laptop by chance?

If so, I'd think your vents are plugged with dust...finally cleaned mine after 4 years...haven't heard the fan since;)

    Agreed Mike.

Teamster, your CPU cooling fan is dirty. If you have a desktop, remove the side panel of the computer case and use compressed air to thoroughly blow the inside of the box out. Problem solved.

If you have a laptop, you can follow these steps. You'll be able to thoroughly clean everything when you have the laptop apart.

A few things, use CDA (clean dry air) in a can, the CDA pressure might be high, but volume through a nozzle tube is low,,,hold the can back a bit to start with...one issue with compressed air (like you shop compressor) is you need a real good moisture trap at least 30 feet down line (mines at 50) form the compressor.

Plus, you have to stay back a ways so as not to be to aggressive in the tower.

On my LT, running GB, I was seeing my temps real high...so like the link Rich posted, I pulled the LT apart, swabbed the fans and cleaned the vents form the inside...something to note here as I mention it in my CC forum., YJ brought up a good point I forgot about...static electricity being generated by the vacuum...so make sure you use  a ground pad (I didn't) and be careful.

Also, the vents will be plugged from inside, so you have to pull the cooling fan to get to the vents, don't blow in from the outside:)

lastly, I didn't touch my CPU or heat sink as Soulcatcher did, but now, my fan hasn't turned on and CPU/HD sit at 105/90?IIRC-max...but my heatsink came from CPU and across the airflow of the fan...just a "bar" if you will, no fins/etc.

If using canned or especially compressed air to blow dust off a fan, don't let the fan spin. Spinning it too fast this way can damage it.
