I wonder if anyone has ever proposed the idea of "re-entry" fees for the unlimited type of tournament?  The way this works is the 1st entry is still free, but additional rounds played would be subject to a small fee. The point is to level the playing field for the player who only plays one time versus the ones that play over and over "dialing in" a desirable score. In effect the multi round payer would be contributing a proportional amount to the prize fund. I would like to hear some opinions on this idea; would it discourage cheating? Would it make prizes a little more lucrative?

So you're suggesting that wealthy people should have an advantage over the poor?

    Another great post Courteney.

in what way was the OP suggesting the wealthy have an advantage?,hes talking of an unlimited tourney,if I read the post correctly it would be quite the opposite with the people who choose to "re-enter" bumping the purse up..good idea I reckon.

A lot of people on here don't play for credits so they don't carry that many. Having to pay for extra goes on a free tournament would be unfair to them. There are lots of pay to enter tournaments already available to the credit rich. Now do you see what I mean? My original post was a question by the way, hence the question mark at the end of it.

    +1!

Furtheron, the proposed addition to the prize fund would return these extra credits to some of the wealthier "unlimited" players, adding to the unfairness.

In a way what I was suggesting would actually redistribute the wealth as rich players would increase the prize fund tat could still be won by anyone. I did not want to open a political discussion about class struggles, nor did I suggest that all unlimited tournaments be formatted this way.  The reason I suggested the possibility is because I get  little discouraged when I put blood, sweat, and tears into shooting a round of 65 on a difficult course, only to look at the leaderboard and find someone has posted a 50! Seriously! 50! That's 3 eagles and 15 birdies no mistakes at all. I am curious, how does one do that? Do you save game on every hole and take a "mulligan" if you make a mistake? Lastly, I wouldn't be hatin on the rich folks too much, they are the ones that actually buy the few credits that are available for circulating around in the prize funds. One thing I've noted is there aren't to many sponsors or such bumping up the kitty to a respectable level. I would like to suggest that maybe some of the prizes be equipment from the pro shop, o even the poor would be able to get decent clubs.

I'm just suggesting a variety in tourney formats. There are tourneys for those who aren't interested in the credits, why shouldn't there be some for folks that like to play for them. Since you aren't playing for them do you refuse to take the credits that you win? How is it unfair when you still have a chance of winning something (maybe more than usual) without having to contribute anything to it. I think i's less fair allowing people to play over and over, or replay saved games until they get the result they want.
