  I think that marketing have done some analysis and realized people want good scores. They want good scores, they want them directly and without effort. And they are ready to pay for it.

  So I assume next set of top irons will have 10 in forgiveness, 5 in precision  and reach 235 yards. Nothing we can do about it since I guess 80% or more of the WGT players want the game easier, not harder.

  Realism never sells, it's the same with other simulators - the accurate ones are used by a few enthusiasts and those who make you feel like a hero are used by many.

  Maybe they need to introduce "modes", with an 'expert' move reduces the forgiveness and a 'arcade' move that magically make all shots almost perfect.

  Totally agreed... Not necessarily expert mode, but expert tourneys which would be tough to play - currently the only option for that is uneven lies, which is however not very realistic, plus there is no extra motivation for people to play them.

  They could make these expert tourneys where players would have more realistic uneven lies, variable/unpredictable wind, worse shots for badly missed dings, etc.

  Or if WGT folks are not capable to implement any changes that require programming, they could simply say that in certain tourneys club precision, forgiveness, feel are all decreased by 1 dot or so... They could attract good players to play these tourneys by boosting prizes, e.g. free entry with "double prize purse" as we often have. They could also differentiate ready-go rake by difficulty, e.g. difficult tourneys could have 10% or 0% rake and easy ones 20% or 30%. To sum up, there are many ways to address this problem if there is a "political will" to do so...

  But that wouldnt make sense . You look at the 93+ R1 driver , it is a little better than the 94+ R11s . In real life, why would you buy a new club of any kind , if it didnt perform better than the older existing clubs . Even if they do introduce the new G25s , to replace the G20s ,if they dont perform better than what is already available , it would be a waste. They would have to at least perform better than the G20s, which run a close 2nd to the R11 irons and R11s driver . Even if it comes down to that,, it would be worth the investment .   in my experience with these irons the Bladez stands head & shoulders above the G20's performance wise .. & the R11 irons are a tad better than the Bladez on the 3 & 4 irons ..

  so the intro of new iron sets above lvl 90, in comparison to the R11's could be something like this:

  R11                                                          G25 (or whatever)

  distance 120-225                                  distance 120-225

  precision 4.5 dots                                  precision 4 dots

  forgiveness 3 dots                                 forgiveness 2.5 dots

  spin 4 dots                                              spin 4 dots

  mtr speed 1pm                                       mtr speed 12pm

   

  the R11's are still better, the Bladez remain top 3 irons & G25's become an additional option at higher levels for players who want more options.

  This is exactly my thinking.  Make the meter a tad slower and the clubs performance a step down from the R11's.  Maybe set them at lvl 86 so that those 'tweener Legends have something to strive toward.

  They really have gotten the shaft as of late.
