I think so.
- the meter becomes slower,
- more spin shortens roll,
- more distance allows for shorter clubs => higher trajectory => less roll.
It's a no-brainer to use the basic WGT balls (10 crs/sleeve) if affordable, from Pro or TP on. With some economic rationale a player might choose a ball corresponding to his irons, limited by the credits he wants to spend.
I've been playing the Tour-SDs long time until I changed to the lvl 33 Callies (old type). I see the playing advantage of high-level Nikes, but I'm thrifty - it's just for fun for me.
