I know this may seem like a weird or "stupid" question, but I have been thinking on it for a while and can't seem to find the answer.

So, in tournaments(preferably CC tournaments) it states that 14/50 states are against skill-based games. I live in one of those states and I can still enter and play tournaments easily.

What can I play and what can I not play?

What do the rules actually mean? Like, do they mean you can't convert the credits into cash or what?

Anyways, thanks for the time, just trying to get the feel for things around here.

    Sorry for all the questions.

I too live in a state (AZ) where playing WGT in 'credit matches' was previously denied. Not so since earlier this year.

Apparently the on-line 'skill-based games' (h.a. 'sbg') ad hoc gaming titans have reached agreement with the various anti-sbg states, and some of the anti-sbg 'foreign' countries - 'Strictly game credits, sirs & madames; no real-world cash outgoing, sirs and madames. The pool of credits that players use as exchange in the strict confines of the game environment have been purchased by the players themselves, and has no intrinsic real-world currency value; therefore it is not against any wagering laws. Cash flow into WGT coffers is one-way; it cannot be retrieved by any player in the form of real-world currency.'

The above is my take on the likely argument from the on-line 'skill-based gaming industry' to the various anti-sbg government entities.

Thank you for all the help!

Just was confused about the tournament rules and such, but now I know.

Thanks again, I really appreciate it.

WGT changed their rulings on state participation a few months back, I guess you read something that hasn't been updated since then. Hope that makes sense.

No-one can convert credits into cash no matter where in the world they are.The game does not work like that.

Wgt had to block any play for states that had online gambling restrictions that disallowed winning credits for cash out type prizes for internet play. When Wgt did away with their credits for cash out prizes via the credits cashout for credit cards, they were allowed to ublock many states for earned credit play. There still are a few states at present  where the "for credit play" on wgt doesn't meet their legal guidelines leaving those states still currently blocked.

A list of the states that still block would be very  valuable. I have a club member from Tennessee that get's blocked from any game that requires credits, like 5 credits.

Where can this list of states be found?

It may be in the FAQs =>
and it may be in the tournament rules.

But, concerning the "credits in the confines", the presentation is totally different, showing $ earnings from credits winnings...

Alas, this thought gives a totally new meaning to the verification process: If a player is in a restrictive state, he won't receive verification, and then his credits officially are in their confinement, no matter how different the public presentation may be.
