My friend has a desktop that is older and has less processing power than his new laptop, but his laptop appears to have a much faster meter, and it will not stop the meter when he clicks, so drastic adjustment is needed.

Laptop is windows 7, 64 bit i5 processor, 6 gig of ram. I use Maxthon version 4.1.0.4000. Using a wired mouse.

Any ideas anyone what the problem could be ?

    Thanks

I use Chrome John, and the only time I have encountered that situation was with pepperflash enabled. So get your friend to disable that and install another flash player or try another browser if he is using Chrome.

Oops. You were talking about your friend then you said 'I use Maxthon'. Guess I should have thought about it a bit more, hehe. (My heart's in the right place but my brain doesn't always function).

My bad, no quote function ffs, I was quoting my friend, sorry

he is a top player, better than me, so I would really like to help him out, as he is stuck in the UK until December.

No worries John. I know that there are other posts about similar problems to your friends and I remember some people suggested looking into the 'mouse polling rate'. I won't pretend that I know anything about this because I don't, but it might be worth looking into.

Yep, I knew about that thread and have already mentioned it, but it appears not to have made an impression.

    C'est la vie

I have Win7, too, and had better experiences with Maxthon 3 than M.4 (Cloud).

I'm back to Firefox now - personal preference.
